And the winner is ...

Timing is everything apparently, and despite the expectations stacked against her, and the skeptical controversial opinions of the Weyrfolk who were unconvinced that Orraeloth's glowing would be anything but a false alarm, the tawdry gold took to the feeding grounds at midday, while Enka and Miraneith were out of the Weyr. Rumor has it that the senior had gone to Telgar Weyr to attempt to arrange a meeting with the Telgari leaders. Did Liora have anything to do with the meeting, nobody could say. In fact, there were no other golds in the Weyr at all — Iris and Shadhavarth having jaunted off on a short vacation of a sorts with her weyrmate, Ila'den and his bronze — leaving the skies above the Weyr in sole possession of the inexperienced Orraeloth.

Nevertheless, while Orraeloth's second flight was nowhere near the disaster that her first flight was, the inexperienced gold — lacking guidance from her inept rider — still managed to consume half a wherry before blooding a single herdbeast, and taking to the skies. The resulting flight wasn't long, the winner a surprise visitor from Ierne Weyrhold, a transport bronze who still had packages strapped to him when he took off in pursuit.

When all was said and done, and Orraeloth caught, and Liora swept off by the winning rider (although the uncharitable say he must have been blinded by flightlust to have done /that/ … certainly, he didn't stay in the guest weyr for long) and the dust had settled long enough for the other goldriders to return, the big question is … what's going to happen next?
