Description

Hot flames of pale gold form over a dainty snout, tendrils of color spreading over her eye ridges and jowls where it meets layers of many shades of this golden spectrum. They flow out about her lithe body — an accent to her uniquely thin form — streaking down her neck, shoulders, belly and haunches to her tail. Each comes together in a rippled transition, reminiscent heat rising off the horizon. Pale ridges of the same gold on her snout start the gradient of colors; darkening to yellow gold, aged gold, brass and rose gold, almost copper. Rich red, like molten magma, glows up from her belly, marking the end of this color field though her limbs retain the paler tones, darkening again around strikingly near-ivory talons. The pale of her ridges and face freckle over her shoulders, neck, back and haunches as if she were rolled in dust or ashes, flickering down her tail to concentrate at the end, leaving the tip as pale as her snout. The same effect occurs over the pale to brass gradient of her wing spars—contrasting the slowly darkening limbs with a slow collection of paler particles. These do not affect the wings any, which give the hues in reverse, fading from a few stark red streaks, out to pale gold once more.

Personality

Doc: What do you want Wyatt?
Wyatt: Just to live a normal life.
Doc: There is no normal life, there's just life, ya live it.
Wyatt: I don't know how.
Doc: Sure ya do …. Live every second, live right on through the end. Live Wyatt, live for me.

As described in the credits, Bennueth is paralleled strongly not only to the phoenix personality to desired but the events in the life of Wyatt Earp. Golds have to be written a bit differently to reflect their duties, as wing life for them is different than chromatics. So here's more her emotional, social and mental evolution for you to take from. As you read on, think not only about how Bennueth can be developed, but also of Rea, because Bennueth will require a lot of complex development from -both- characters as they learn to accept their new way of life, the responsibility they must take upon themselves, and the pressure of their status.

In Bennueth's early years it's apparent she's got natural talent as a leader, knowing what the best decisions are, who the leadership is and why they should be listened to… she'll tell you, Rea, exactly what she thinks should be done about Baliceauth when she tries to intimidate Lhayerath and make her give up that pretty shell. -But- she'll be hesitant to say these things aloud and make any sort of action on these observations. She'll want something to be done, but not really want to do it herself. It will taking Rea's prodding and initiative to edge her along. She'll know she's special, taking in how other people treat her but not exactly understand why.

As she hits the adolescent period of her life she'll want nothing to do with her destined future. Like most -human- teenagers, she'll have a strong desire to avoid her responsibilities. « Baliceauth always get away with mouthing off! It's not -fair!- Why do they always punish ME for it? S'just cause I'm -GOLD-. » But as she tries to shirk these duties and responsibilities to fit in with her peers she'll find herself in pools of guilt for not doing the -right- thing and falling short of expectations. « I shouldn't have said that to Mevalonath. She's right. That was horrible to do to Kurouth… for any dragon. I hope he'll forgive me. » She'll be reliant on you to keep her in line at these times. To show her that you must accept what cards you both have been given.

This realization will cause a dramatic change in her. She'll become distanced from her peers, developing a hardened almost 'second self' from which she watches their changes. A sort of poker face towards society as she puts all her focus into her job and learning what both of you must do. Rea must be careful to keep her from destroying herself or burning you both out with such a workaholic mentality, reminding that there is more to life than lessons. She'll develop a strange disapproval towards alcohol which can't easily be explained. « It smells bad! » Is all she'll say, but really she doesn't like what it does to people. She'll also have a tendancy towards dressing appropriately. Not her, of course, but once her wilder years have passed, she'll not like you, Rea, over exposing yourself. « It's not right… not dignified. What would the public say, seeing a Junior like that? »

Reabennuabstract-1.jpg

As and adult she'll be a focused order keeper, analytical, distanced, all the things of her transformation. To Rea her compassion will be shown— love for her fellow dragon, for flight, for eggs and her little ones, even the attraction to bronzes. Which brings us to her flights and flying in general.

Bennueth will not hold intimate relationships of any kind, save with you. You are her Doc Holliday and Josephine Marcus. Everything is shared with you that would not otherwise be shown. When it comes to mating flights she'll find her attraction strongest to the males who are more limber, more daring, more uncouth and carefree… maybe even irresponsible. She'll be looking for an escape, everything she -isn't-. She's more likely to be caught by an athletic and acrobatic bronze than a bulky brawny one because of her size and ability. Flying for her is unique to most golds. Rather than seeming like a 747 in the air, she'll be far more nimble. Never rival the greens, but flying, especially with you, Rea, her best, most intimate of friends, is her ultimate release from cares and duties. Likely it will be flights with her that you could use to take Bennueth's mind off her cares and worries… and she will -never- turn you down. Not for anything.

Why did she pick you, Rea? She needs that 'shoulder friend', that comrade and pal to spend her life with. She need you and you need her. Both of you have a sense of duty but youth over experience is valuable to Bennueth for a reminder to -live- life. Bennueth's truest desires will always to just -be-. To have "a normal life" but as Doc tells Wyatt, and Rea will have to understand with Bennueth, there is no normal life. There's just life… and you live it.

Egg

Too Tough To Die Egg
Over all this egg is no relief to look at from the intense heat of the sands. Seeming a bit stretched, it lays on it's longer side, a grainy feeling to the surface, like grooved stone. The shell has a distinctive image to it. The elongated base sits in the sand, washed with gilded dun and dusted with a freckling of darker browns and tans like a well traveled path. Against this comes the contrast of darker, geometric shapes, dark reds, hunter greens and blues, some much smaller square outlines of white set into the larger darker colors. They are lined up in a row along it's surface, ripples rising from the dust-colored base and distorting the transition between it and the colorful pattern. This effect is the only thing akin to water, the illusion of it on a hot summer's day. A solid gold blotch faces the cavern ceiling atop the egg's flopped side, dispelling it's glory gradually in a sheen that sprays down over the entirety of the shell surface… before fading into the gilded dust of the base.

Mind name

Rowelled Spurs and Warm Leather
Heat and warmth, oppressive to some and relaxing to others. Calculation and analyzing is prominent in the buzz of cicadas. Sometime it is a bright mind, like the blazing sun on the desert, but sometimes a crackling campfire in the night. When emotional or sad the distinct smell of wet desert and fragrant sage with a sizzling smoke of doused flame. When excited, fire blazes into being amid ashes and dust that whirl about in thought. The voice is feminine, but firm and unyielding. A deep sound like an echo down a desert gorge. Occasionally the soothing of rushing red water. Ultimately her mind is all those things the desert brings to mind. Fire is usually only triggered in flights, both mating and general, or any time she 'lets her hair down', which are generally rarities.

Impression Message

The heat of the Sands seem to permeate your thoughts, blotting out their actual existence. But this heat is more intrusive, a flare of excited flame that wraps about your thoughts with the smoky scents of burning sage and the cracking of embers in excitement. « Rea! » Come a mindvoice, clear, deep, and feminine, reaching forth with a gust of hot desert wind to pull you into the thoughts of the little gold before you. « Rea, I am here at last! Your Bennueth! » The ecstatic blaze is dulled with a great ache. « I think it's time for some… some… this! » She sends forth the thoughts of her craving, red raw meat. « We need that Rea, you and I… We shall have some together, yes? » And the heat clears, brightness pulling back into the reality of the Sands and the dragon before you, gazing expectantly.

Our clutch theme was heroes and villains, cops and robbers, good guys and the bad guys and you have… a good guy! Bennueth and her egg are based on legendary lawman Wyatt Earp. Earp was not always a good man. After his wife died of typhus Wyatt went on a self destructive streak, robbing stage coaches, stealing horses, drinking himself into the ground (after his reform, he never -touched- alcohol again). He was caught and sentenced to hang when his father, a judge, gave him a second chance. He didn't become a lawman until his 30s. Law really wasn't what Wyatt wanted… or thought he wanted. Several times he tried to give it up and settle down into a quiet but prosperous life. But time and time again he was called back to bring western frontier justice, sometimes 'unlawfully'. He finally found his peace well into his 50s with actress Josephine Marcus and lived out the rest of his days as a legend. You wanted the phoenix, and oddly enough the phoenix's life is none too different. Wyatt Earp often felt detached from life following his first wife's death, rising from the ashes of his depression into a new life where he was considered 'immortal'. (a famous incident where Earp walked right into plain view in a gunfight to shoot Curly Bill Brocious and despite the bullets whizzing about him and Brocious's own pistol firing just yard ahead he was untouched and unloaded his own shot gun at point blank range) He watched his family and friends die around him, his first wife, his own brothers, Doc Holliday (his best friend)… and yet continued on. In light of this I found very little to distinguish, giving you the name you wished but for appearance sake I decided to go with the painted deserts of Arizona, where Wyatt made himself infamous and where the city "Phoenix" is the capital. The egg is based on Tombstone, AZ where the OK Corral shoot out, that made Earp famous, took place. "The Town Too Tough To Die" is the town motto… Which fits with Earp -and- the phoenix. Over all, the more I wrote the more parallels I found and there were far too many coincidences with what you wanted and what I had. I hope you enjoy her as much as I enjoyed making her. -Toe!

Theme Song(s)

Bennueth's - Arms of an Angel, by Sarah Mclachlan

Spend all your time waiting
For that second chance
For a break that would make it okay
Theres always one reason
To feel not good enough
And its hard at the end of the day

Bennucyredit-1.jpg

I need some distraction
Oh beautiful release
Memory seeps from my veins
Let me be empty
And weightless and maybe
Ill find some peace tonight

[chorus:]
In the arms of an angel
Fly away from here
From this dark cold hotel room
And the endlessness that you fear
You are pulled from the wreckage
Of your silent reverie
You're in the arms of the angel
May you find some comfort there

So tired of the straight line
And everywhere you turn
There's vultures and thieves at your back
And the storm keeps on twisting
You keep on building the lie
That you make up for all that you lack
It don't make no difference
Escaping one last time
Its easier to believe in this sweet madness oh
This glorious sadness that brings me to my knees

[Chorus]

Impression(Rea/Bennueth): Savin Me, Nickelback

Prison gates won't open up for me
On these hands and knees I'm crawlin'
Oh, I reach for you
Well I'm terrified of these four walls
These iron bars can't hold my soul in
All I need is you
Come please I'm callin'
And oh I scream for you
Hurry I'm fallin', I'm fallin'

[Chorus:]
Show me what it's like
To be the last one standing
And teach me wrong from right
And I'll show you what I can be
Say it for me
Say it to me
And I'll leave this life behind me
Say it if it's worth saving me

Heaven's gates won't open up for me
With these broken wings I'm fallin'
And all I see is you
These city walls ain't got no love for me
I'm on the ledge of the eighteenth story
And oh I scream for you
Come please I'm callin'
And all I need from you
Hurry I'm fallin', I'm fallin'

[Chorus]

Hurry I'm fallin'

All I need is you
Come please I'm callin'
And oh, I scream for you
Hurry I'm fallin', I'm fallin', I'm fallin'

[Chorus]

Hurry I'm fallin'
