Egg Snacks (Touching #2)

Western Weyr - Hatching Grounds Entrance
The entryway is in the shade, but its no escape from the heat. The heat of the hatching sands nearby is such that it warms even a cavern as big as the one before you. The edges of the entryway look to have been carved by a dragon's claws, possibly the original queen who first chose this place and broke down the wall to make it posible for her to enter. The rest of the cavern looks like a natural formation, except the seats of the galleries perhaps.

While Miraneith might be less active during the day, for the moment she's been distracted by food and the sands are currently abandoned. Well, mostly, there are still dragons around on ledges and what have you keeping ever watchful vigils on the clutches. And as for Shadhavarth? Well, maybe she's curled up sleeping with eyelids barely cracked enough to keep an eye on those candidates who would wander overly close or misbehave. Either way, somehow Ir'e has found himself roped into Weyrlingmaster type duties. Perhaps it's one of the many joys of being a Wingsecond is getting other duties foisted on you at the most inopportune times. Curses! The bluerider is standing at the entrance of the hatching sands, arms crossed over his muscle-clad chest and he looks very much not thrilled at the moment. "Just remember, the eggs are delicate and sill a bit soft. So be /gentle/ with them. They do house baby dragons. Don't do anything that will make a gold dragon want to make a snack out of you. Yiska will be jealous if he doesn't get the first taste." And with that he moves aside to herd the group into the sands.

Truth be told, Rhabel is probably looking just as thoroughly pleased as Ir'e is - if not considerably /less/ happy with where they are. Dragons, weyrmates, people-named-Rhadan-who-smell-of-latrines? Who cares if he's not even here yet? Rhabel can still smell him. The worst. Still, when the bluerider leads his band of candidates onto the sand, Rhabel finds an opportune moment to brush past him as they go, catching the man at the elbow and giving a gentle squeeze before letting go. He doesn't look at him, of course, because Ir'e might be able to read the rising fear in those green eyes (which might well result in 'I told you sos', or callousness, or getting carted off of the sands), but he does need the momentary contact if only to reassure himself. And then? And then he's moving onto the sands looking about as unsure as he's ever looked about anything in his life. STARE. He doesn't want to do it. He's just going to watch the others, and see how it's supposed to be done first.

Again with these suggestions about dragons eating people! Another egg touching, and another day that Rhadan has been cleaning latrines. This morning, upon looking at that chore roster, he had wondered in the back of his mind (and perhaps out loud) about who he had offended or insulted to pull back-to-back latrine duty. There was muttering from the young man briefly that morning when he had started his work… but now. Well, getting called to the sands was a wonderful way to get away from those smelly… yucky latrines. Two days of it already, and this the third. He has changed his clothing more in the last three days than… well, almost ever. Yucky latrines. And Rhabel is not the only candidate that is avoiding the teen. He is on the sand now, though. Of course, this time it is with Ir'e leading the group to the sands, and Rhadan is quite obviously keeping his distance. Ir'e is standing at the entrance with his arms crossed? Well, Rhadan has made sure there are a couple of other candidates between him and the blue rider when he passes by, and his eyes do not look directly at the rider. IF YOU DON'T LOOK HE WON'T SEE YOU, RIGHT? HIDE! Okay, so it isn't that bad… but, his /is/ avoiding the rider… as much as he can. And look. Eggs. Again. Two down already… which next?

Sundari is back at the sands, mostly because she was told to come, and as she is an candidate she does her best to do as she is told. Another morning in dealing with dirty laundry and she was very happy to flee the chores for a short time at least. She brushes off her shirt, there was some laundry soap still clinging to her, at least she has that fresh soapy smell to her, right? Her gaze dances around the ones here and the looks up to I're and listens in closely. She nods and clears her throat a touch. "Yes sir." Is offered with a polite tone. Though at the part of dragons possible wanting to make a snack out of them she pales a moments. Dragon's can't really eat people, right? At least she is rather sure that someone told her that. She'll follow the others out onto the sands once the OK is given.

Ir'e's eyes narrow when Rhabel is getting anywhere inside his personal space, close enough to /squeeze/ an elbow nonetheless. Grrr. For now he'll just keep his teeth clamped down around any scathing comment he wants to toss at his weyrmate. Because trust me, he has several choice ones just jumping at the chance to go flying at Rhabel's big, ugly, face. But attention quickly wavers to that of Rhadan and there's definitely a crinkling of his nose there. So much for the if you don't look he can't see you right?! As if that rank egg out there wasn't bad enough, now there's someone who smells nearly as bad. "Rhadan, do you not know the meaning of taking a good long soak and scrubbing behind your sharding ears?" His tongue clucks and then he's looking at Sundari, and the look on his face at being called 'sir' even if it's proper isn't one that looks all too thrilled. "Ir'e is just fine, candidate." Because it's not as if he knows her name. And she's darned lucky she wasn't searched by Yiska or she might know a bit more than she wanted about dragons and people eating. "Don't be shy. Just be polite and careful."

Rhabel is so focused on the eggs (and the impending moment of having to touch them) that he completely ignores his weyrmate's dismissal. Those green eyes watch Rhadan and Sundari as they come closer, but his attention is stolen by the few candidates brave enough to venture forward first (or perhaps who'd overcome their fear the first time around). The man waits half a heartbeat more, and then steps forward, reaching out with one hand to gently place it against Soured Sunshine Egg.

Soured Sunshine Egg to Rhabel> « Secret of the Sword gains entry into your mind, sneakily easing itself into the depths of your thoughts. Probing, pushing, exploring, the mind of the unhatched dragonchild delves into yours with a ruthless efficiency. Looking, searching, seeking … for … for … your darkness, the meanness, the more wicked aspects of what might make you into a nasty terrible person. Surely you have them, those naughty terrible thoughts, of the time you might have wanted to push some weyrbrat into the manure pile in the stables, or swipe a sweet roll out from under the nose of some half-blind old auntie. Everyone has their darkness, and this young mind is determined to find it — to serve you and be your lieutenant in your evil dastardly deeds. A final push, and the presence in your thoughts suddenly freezes, and then fades altogether. »

Rhadan's yuckiness feels like it is all over him. The cleaning liquid or the latrines themselves have left him with an odd, filmy feeling to his skin. And his clothes, too - he just /knows/ that there is something unseen and nasty sticking to them. He /knows/ that there is an aroma to him, and he will make as soon as his can. The Weyr's hot springs have been a place he will be visiting soon after this time on the sands is over. Until then, though, he and everyone else (candidates, riders, eggs and dragons) will have to deal with the latrine boy. Of course, people blame /him/ for it! Ir'e, for example. Rhadan pauses his walking when the bluerider's voice addresses him. Crap! He must have looked at him at some point! "Hey! It isn't my fault! I got picked up to come here right after working!" He isn't the one who decides where he works! A few candidates are looked at for support - come on, they ought to understand, right? Now that /that/ is all address, Rhadan looks at the eggs again and his eyes set on a particular one. It is small. Tiny, even, compared to the other eggs, and he is soon giving a slight bow to the apparently sleeping Shadhavarth (not a full one, but it is a bow, anyway). He has done this once before, that makes him a pro, right? Soon he is stepping forward towards that egg, fingers stretching out.

Not Just A Furry Little Dirt Clod Egg to Rhadan> « Leonine Galactic Defender enters your mind with a roar — a clarion call of a proud feline — and a warm soft darkness draws about you, scattered by pinpoints of lights like the stars in the night sky above. Who are you? the presence asks, what are you? A faint feeling travels down your back, a feeling of ghostly talons reaching out to gather you in. There's nothing threatening about it, just a warm fuzzy feeling of being watched over by a benign authoritative figure — guarded and sheltered — as it strives to learn more about you aand who you are. One by one, the pinpoints of lights wink out, leaving you shrouded in the darkness, but utterly without fear. Someone is watching over you. »

Sundari peers curiously to Ir'e a soft ah escapes her before she nods. Well, alright so no sir for this one either. Knowing her luck she'll stop using the rank idea and get in trouble when she doesn't call the right person sir or ma'am. Onwards though! She sends a glance over to Rhadan and Rhabel and watches where about they go before she moves on over towards one of the eggs. As for Rhadan and his little 'problem'. "He'll be fine! No one will pay attention to it in a few moments. I don't even smell anything." Totally lying but still, she was trying to help Rhadan there, really! A certiain fuzzy wuzzy egg seems to have caught her attention at the moment. Once near it she leans down and lets her hand slowly hover over it before touching it lightly with her fingers.

Fuzzy Wuzzy Was Half An Egg to Sundari> « Insane Case From Outer Space crash lands into your thoughts with a boom and a bang! You get the feeling that you're hanging upside-down for a moment, or maybe it's this other presence that 's hanging? It's hard to tell, but soon enough you feel righted again. This mind seems to show very little interest in you from the get go. In fact… is it trying to hide from you? It's trying, certainly. Trying to hide in plain sight, even though you can sense it, right there in front of you! It seems to realize you can see it, and instead starts to skirt around, trying to hide in your… memories? Oddly enough it picks the most mundane memories to do this in. Breakfast yesterday. Dinner from three nights ago. One might be left wondering… what is the point? »

"She's a liar. We all smell something." Rhabel's words of wisdom, perhaps encouraged by the little egg that encourages him to be /evil/ - not that the man /needs/ encouraging, mind you. When he pulls his hand away from the egg in question, those green eyes go to his weyrmate, lingering, before he places his hand right back on the little thing. "You smell awful half of the time, Ir'e. Leave him alone." Why hello, little evil man. How you doin'?

Soured Sunshine Egg to Rhabel> « Secret of the Sword seems to have done a complete heel-face turn as it returns. Chastised now, the presence shutters away all thoughts of dark evil deeds, and instead begins to search for good things, for what makes you a good person, especially seeking out honor and justice. Of the time you helped that half-blind old auntie get across the Bowl, or the time you helped that weyrbrat muck out the stall of a particularly restive runner. There is a nimbus about you, so bright and pure and full of goodness, you half wonder if it shows on the outside as you stand on the Hatching Sands, hand pressed to the shell of this egg. No longer are the bad thoughts encouraged, redemption has been made. Together, you might serve the side of good, making the Weyr a better place. »

Rhadan RECIEVES HELP FROM SUNDARI! THAT IS WHAT TRUE FRIENDS ARE FOR! Not true friends? RHABEL IS HATEFULLY HONEST! And then… well, then the same Rhabel is defending Rhadan. And calling Ir'e smelly. Ha! Both Sundari and Rhabel get thankful looks - the second a little hesitant, before Rhadan's mind is focus on… well, his mind, and the happenings there. "I'm… Rhadan. I'm a human." In case you did not know, Rhadan is a human, people! Those of you who thought otherwise are idiots. Rhadan's posture, as his hand remains on the egg and his eyes close, relaxes. He looks… comfortable? More so than his ewie, sticky body was feeling minutes ago.

Not Just A Furry Little Dirt Clod Egg to Rhadan> « Leonine Galactic Defender seeks further knowledge of you, a yearning to learn more about you and what makes you tick. There's a curious sensation — almost as if you were being taken apart and each one of your parts — your head, your hands and arms, your feet and legs — are all examined, your strengths and weaknesses assessed and measured before you find yourself being reassembled, your very being put back together to form the core of who you are. Having learned what it could of you, the presence fades in a burst of starfire, a brilliant white flare of solar light and darkness envelopes you once more. »

Ir'e is quite thrilled at being 'ignored' by his weyrmate. After all, it isn't as if /wants/ to speak to Rhabel. If he had any choice whatsoever in this matter he'd be up in his weyr and far away from the stupid young man he somehow managed to weyrmate. Huff. But even though he still has those arms crossed and generally is looking rather formidable in his irritation it doesn't stop his eyes from sneaking glances Rhabel-wards when no one is looking. As for Rhadan, well needless to say the bluerider is going to give him a /wide/ girth regardless if it's his fault or not. "Excuses. The eggs could have waited five minutes while you went and got yourself cleaned up a bit. I mean, if the eggs were a'rocking then that would be one thing, but they weren't. Do us all a favor and take the extra time next time." Might give Ir'e less reason to pick on Rhadan too. Maybe. But doubtful. "You might want to make a trip to the healers if you don't smell anything, candidate." Chocolate eyes are fixated on Sundari due to that comment. "Maybe they need to shove a light up there and poke around. That totally sounds like fun." When it's Rhab's time to talk again, well, the bluerider is outright ignoring him and doesn't even dignify him with a reply. Ir'e smells of MANBEAST. Take it and like it. That's right.

Sundari sends a glance towards Rhabel at the 'she's a liar' bit. "I'm only trying to be nice, not full out lying." She doesn't seem amused by the others comments but her attention is stolen by the egg that she has touched. Her gaze flicks one way and then another before she looks back to the egg seeming amused. "I don't think your find anything that easyly." As for the comments from Ir'e yeah she hears it but has no comments to give. For the recored she can smell just fine. The thought of poking something up her nose makes her cring, and there is a slight roll of her eyes. She soon closes her eyes and lets her fingers slowly slide across that egg. As for Rhadan, she will help him anytime! Friends so do that after all.

//Fuzzy Wuzzy Was Half An Egg to Sundari> « Insane Case From Outer Space is creeping around still. It is… learning you. What exactly it's learning about you is for it to know and you to find out! It seems to trip and get stuck on this particular on this memory. It's one of the more embarrassing ones for you, too. How rude and uncomfortable! But somehow this other presence isn't phased at all. No, we meant to do that! This was all part of the master plan, this one failure is just a stepping stone. Plan A amongst the collective alphabet of plans. And somehow it makes you feel just a little bit better about this situation. Is it… helping? » //

Ignore Ir'e and the personal vendetta the man has against you, Rhadan! Well, maybe it hasn't gone /that/ far, but Rhadan is not responding to what else Ir'e said. Nope. Not right now. Of course, right now he is busy. While his hand is one that egg his body shivers. "Hey. What…" He just raised an arm and shook it. What was that feeling? A leg does the same - rising and shaking. Still there. Soooo weird! He says as much, "That was weird!" It was, okay! And then he is standing there quiet, waiting… eyes remaining closed for now.

//Not Just A Furry Little Dirt Clod Egg to Rhadan> « Leonine Galactic Defender makes a final foray into your thoughts. Now, you are studied, examined and inspected. Who are you really? What box can you be put into? Are you quiet, thoughtful and introspective — a leader of men (or women) and dragons? Or are you a jokester — cracking jokes and teasing your friends, winning over the ladies (or the men) with your charm? Are you smart, athletic and quick? Are you naive, unsure in the ways of the world, particularly love — but willing to do what's necessary? Or are you trying to look tough and full of bravado, deep down cherishing a soft heart for the little things in life — with an appetite to match? Are you any of these things? Are you none of them? Whatever you are, satisfaction has been gained by this unhatched draconic child, a greater understanding of who you are, and for the third time, darkness cloaks you and the mind withdraws for good. » //

"You don't have to be nice. He smells. It's nicer to let him know so that he can get clean instead of letting him walk around like that." Don't worry, Sundari! Rhabel is /always/ this way. How rude. Despite the fact that Rhabel's little egg buddy is making him think of positive things (semi-sticking up for Rhadan newly added to the list!), the candidate is right back to thinking evil ones when his weyrmate /ignores/ him. Whatever. It's not like Rhabel has missed him anyway. The man blinks after the bluerider once his mind is his own again, asking, "If I get rid of you, does that count as doing something good for the weyr?" It must. He knows (or expects, anyway) that he's not going to get an answer, however. So he just focuses right back on his contradictive little friend-egg.

Soured Sunshine Egg to Rhabel> « Secret of the Sword communes silently with you, secure in the knowledge that while you might still be young and untried in the world, with a friend and companion such as this by your side — together you could right the wrongs, save the people, lead the good fight. Whatever you could do, you'd do it with honor. Honor seems dreadfully important to this unborn mind. The little dragon inside the shell, seems fixated on the thought, that it almost seems overwhelming. But there's a hope there too, of bright good things for the world and a good friend to share it with. The presence lingers, overly long, and then with a gentle flicker, the nimbus of light begins to fade about you, the glow diminishing until the mind within the egg has withdrawn entirely, settling into slumber to sleep and dream of happy things. »

"No I don't have to be honest, or lie, but I also don't have to be mean either." Sundari points out to Rhabel. Like someone else(s) are being here at the moment. A faint glane is sent right towards Rhabel as she says this. "I would tell him in such a manner that would be mean instead." Like not pointing out in a group of people. Though her comments are quickly stopped as her attention is back upon the egg once more and she blinks a moent before frowning. "I wouldn't say it was a really like that." Is murmured out to the egg, her hand pulling back slightly while her fingers just faintly slide across the eggs surface once more. It takes a few moments but she relaxes a tad, as if someone wa shown or perhaps said to help ease her mind a bit.

Fuzzy Wuzzy Was Half An Egg to Sundari> « Insane Case From Outer Space has stopped creeping and is now strutting. Yes, confident, not crazy. Why would you even think that? Strut strut! Ah yes! Here is what it was looking for! You can sense the warm, fuzzy feelings coming from this other presence. It has succeeded! It's found that which it was in search of for all this time! It has triumphed! It is… the memory of walking out onto the sands just a few moments before. And why not? This is the most important of memories! This is your memory of… it. Which you are now building, which it can examine further and thus create more to examine… Around and around it seems to go until it fades away again in the heat of the sands and noises around you. »

Rhadan has been found out. These eggs, he is finding, seem to have the ability to find more about him than even he knew. Well, he knew… but he didn't always see it. Or something. But now, as the dragon in this small egg searches his mind and processes who exactly Rhadan is, the teen is able to see what that unhatched dragon child can see. Not all of it is to Rhadan's liking, either. Just like with the others! But… that is okay. It will help him. As he steps steps away from the egg, he has a look of satisfaction on his face. He gives a bit of a smile and a nod to that egg. Hey, you in the egg - Thanks! And then he is stepping to another egg, this one the Rich and Tropical egg. Before he does, though, he does say a few words with a look to Rhabel and Ir'e, "I would have washed, but I was told I had to go back after this - until I go here. Then I was told I wouldn't have to. So it was too late. Sorry if it is too hard for you all to deal with, but I think I have it worse." THERE! And then he is laying his fingers on another egg, that 'tropical' looking one.

Prickly Desert Mirage Egg to Rhadan> « Tasty in Pink zooms by you at blaring speed. VROOOOOM. Perhaps you missed it the first time, but that's okay, it whips by again, the sound rushing past your other ear. All the while laughter bubbles up around you. Everything around you smells so good, almost willing you to reach out and take a bite, out of the egg? Surely not! But you can't help but consider the thought. Perhaps it'd taste like peppermint? Or how about chewy with a dash of sour? Or chocolate, let's not forget that. Once again there's a laugh and you have the sudden urge to yell, 'Weee!' and throw your arms into the air. This is a ride right? Are you having fun yet? »

Well that was interesting. Rhabel blinks a couple of times, tilting his head to look over Sundari and Rhadan, and then he's moving his feet over to meet If Smells Could Kill. Because nothing seems more interesting right now than meeting If Smells Could Kill. "I never said you had to be mean. You told him you couldn't smell anything. That's a lie." Or maybe she really /can't/, but Rhabel just assumes the entirety of the universe runs at his level of processing. As for Rhadan "I never said I cared that you smelled. Just that you smelled." So there. Touch!

If Smells Could Kill Egg to Rhabel> « Rotten Through and Through makes you gag the moment you touch it. It's that smell, that overpowering smell that seems to wrap around you and squeeze until all you know is that terrible stench. It's as if someone has thrown a stinkbomb in an enclosed room and you're unable to escape. As your senses start to scream and you begin to tug your fingers away you are suddenly stopped, paused while fingers were so close to being dragged away. Wait, no, don't go! The inhabitant of the egg seems to be searching for something, poking and prodding at your mind in distinct almost delicate manner. It might feel as if something is burrowing into you, trying to expose all those little tidbits you never wanted exposed. And then as suddenly as it starts your hand feels as if it's almost forcibly shoved back. No no, you won't do at all. I think one eyebrow is lower than the other and that just isn't acceptable. »

Ir'e grabs one of the younger, smaller candidates by the scruff of his shirt as he starts backing out and tries to escape the heat of the sands. "Do me a favor, kid, go grab some water." He then lets the poor frightened soul run off and be his errand boy. Perks of the job, perks of the job. As the convo continues on about smells and lying and things like that, well, the bluerider is apparently bored because he's not participating in the least. He's just mostly being the silent watch dog of the candidates over the eggs. Not that anyone has been stupid enough to harm a dragon egg really but there is always a first right? Yiska only prays that it happens on his watch.

Sundari chooses now to not even answer any more comments about smells, lying or anything else that is going on. She knows when three is little point to continue on with a conversation and this is certainly one she doens't care if she wins or not. There is an amused look across her face and she blinks while the one within that egg is doing something amusing most likely as she giggles softly for some reason. Either that or she has finally lost her mind thanks to how hot it is. Or perhaps she was sniffing to much of the laundry soap by accident. "Thanks for your time." Is said with a soft murmur to that little fuzzy wuzzy egg. Onwards though to another egg and she shifts moving on towards the Rich and Tropical egg instead which gets a close curious look before she is letting her hand settle upon it likely. The candidate that is grabbed by Ir'e isn't even caught sight of, if so she may be a little worried about whom next could be grabbed or some sort of erran running.

Too Manly To Be Yellow Egg to Sundari> « The Power to Move Mountains slowly creeps into the waters of your mind. Like the beginnings of a symphony, this first bit is just warming up. Listening to the acoustics of a new venue, hearing itself reflected back at it, only as your interpretation. Yes, it can see you. It can feel you. The embodiment of your own persona. Show your strengths! What are you good at? What makes you feel good? Things turned out for you well in this memory, and this mind focuses in to examine the circumstances around it with you. What about you made this possible? An so you can feel the presence growing, becoming stronger and more confident. The cool egg before you seems to be warming up, and you can almost feel it on your skin. »

Rhadan DUCKS! Yes, his head just dropped very quickly, his free hand coming up above his head as if to guard it from some danger unseen by anyone else. His eyes dart up as he straighten himself, but it is not for long, for his is quickly ducking again! AHHH! YISKA CAME TO EAT HIM! Okay, so no, that wasn't it. But he truly was just looking around in the air was if something had been flying around him. Now, though, he is looking at the egg, head still not raised fully from the ducking. His mouth is watering. WHY! It… looks so good. Lips are licked, and his eyes get a look of… hunger, briefly? No. He wouldn't eat the egg, right? Dragons don't eat people and people don't eat dragon eggs. Right? Don't worry, he doesn't bite. No. Now he is laughing a bright laugh. This is fun. :D

Prickly Desert Mirage Egg to Rhadan> « Tasty in Pink Tasty in Pink zips by you again, although this time it appears as if the it's going slower and slower still until there is the distinct sound of crying. All it wants to do is be free, to zip through the sands like it was meant to do, like it was /laid/ to do. But you see, eggs don't make the best of racing vehicles you see, and this egg, oh, well it definitely wants to be free, surfing the sands, the water, the air. Oh, it doesn't matter, it just wants to be free. A muffled sniffle sounds and you feel a pang in your chest. Will you help me? How can you resist the pained sense you get from this egg? Of course you want to help! You just want to reach out and give it a little nudge don't you? No one will notice if it slides down its mound, right? »

What an insulting egg. Not only does the smell assault his more delicate sensibilities, but he's being rejected because of eyebrows? Rhabel blinks once he's released from the egg's thrall, green hues jumping from the egg to his weyrmate. "Are my eyebrows uneven?" he asks, and he will STARE until he gets his answer. Or not. Where once Rhab would have walked away (What! The thing smells and he's getting enough of that from Rhadan, thankyouverymuch), he looks determined. Oh no you don't, little rejecting egg. He intends to know more. Touch!

If Smells Could Kill Egg to Rhabel> « Rotten Through and Through smells a little less terrible this time, or perhaps you're just getting used to it the very uniquely awesome smell? That must be it. Just like last time there's a very up close and personal inspection of you. There's a string on your left shoulder, take it off, you aren't symmetrical at all. It feels as if the egg twitches in irritation before something seems to have distracted it. This egg, it's perfect is it not? You could draw a line down the center and there'd be two perfect halves. Ahhhhhh. Perfection. Even the little 'spines' on this egg are perfectly symmetrical, you didn't notice it did you? Well perhaps you should look closer, closer, closer, that's it. Next thing you know you're bumping your nose against the side of the egg. Whoops, too close. »

Sundari is rather happy that the conversation has died down so her attention is elsewhere, and more importantly upon the egg she is touching at the moment. A soft breath escaping her and she seems to ponder something for a moment, a soft ah esacping her at some questions. "Well, there's a few things." She murmurs out to that egg, wondering where to start. Not that she lingers on those thoughts long. A hand lifts and she gives her shirt a slight tug as if she was getting warmer, no wait that isn't her. Her hand upon the egg is pulled back and she wiggles her fingers, eyeing them before letting her hand rest upon the egg one more pondering what might be next.

Too Manly To Be Yellow Egg to Sundari> « The Power to Move Mountains is continuing to grow. What was once a calm sea is now a choppy sea. Not uncomfortable, just enough to let you know that it is still there. This time it wants to know your weaknesses. Don't be afraid! Test your boundaries! Be confident! Say it out loud! Let everyone hear how little you're afraid of! Now let's see this memory, a not-so-good one. What has gone wrong here? Where have things unraveled? Let's stop there. Let's rewrite this one, fix it, turn your weakness into strength. Let's make this one better. We can do this together! Now what was a bit of warmth is radiating and growing warmer, but still not hot. »

What a clever little egg. Rhabel's interest seems piqued, despite the smell that should have warned him away upon his initial touch, and despite the fact that he just got close enough to bonk his nose on the sharding thing. He pulls his hands away long enough to rub gently at his face, glances over his shoulder to make sure nobody else saw (particularly YOU, Ir'e!), and then Rhab is laying his hands upon Mirage again.

If Smells Could Kill Egg to Rhabel> « Rotten Through and Through no longer affects you like it did that first time. Is that the smell of roses? You take another sniff. No, most definitely not but the scene is very far from the retch-worthy odor that it was in the beginning. Perhaps you've fixed that stray hair in your eyebrow line because the egg isn't leering at you in such a poignant way that makes you squirm (or maybe just roll your eyes). You can tell it's not fully content at its home though. I mean, sure, the egg itself is perfect but it can just sense the sands around it are an utter nightmare. The rolling sands cause that twitching sensation you noticed before in the egg's inhabitant. You get the image of arms flailing before it slumps over and refuses to 'move' again. Apparently having anything but completely smooth sands just isn't something this little one can handle. You give it a mental poke but all is quiet so you have no choice but to move on. »

Sundari closes her eyes there is a bit of a sound there something that makes her think of music though it is quickly replaced by something she knows a lot about and she grins a touch. There is another poke, another prod to things in her mind, things she rather not talk about as who would? "I'd really rather not.." This said with a soft murmur to what ever the egg may be trying to find out. There are a few things that pop to mind, items from her past that she knows could have been done differently, or better, but at the same time she isn't fully sure how to fix them. Her shoulder lower a bit, the normally bright and happy seabrat lingering on a few memories that are clinging to her rather firmly at the moment. There is an idea gien to her by the egg and a soft breath escapes her as she wishes that would be possible. "Would be nice." Her fingers stay upon the egg, though they never fully stay still as if for some reason she just has to keep her hand moving, she'll totally blame the the hot sands.

Too Manly To Be Yellow Egg to Sundari> « The Power to Move Mountains is booming now. It stomps on your unpleasant memories, or warps them into your positive experiences. Your good memories it displays as heroic feats of strength. When was it that you were savior of the weyr? How did you stop the cavern from collapsing or that ship from capsizing? What was once a small presence, this other persona has grown to monumental proportions. Like a start that has gone super nova, or expanded from a small yellow to a red giant the heat and power radiating fill your mind. An overwhelming confidence washes over you, and for a moment you, too, feel as though you could move mountains. Then in the blink of an eye, you realize you are alone again. But has the feeling gone as well? »

Rhabel actually /laughs/ when he's pulling his hands away, and why? Because kindred minds, my friend. Kindred /souls/. "It'll get better soon," he whispers, but the egg is silent, so Rhab's eyes are turning onto one of the other eggs and picking out the next most interesting one. His feet take him over to Sweet Juicy Lovin', and he places his hands on it - this time without a moment's hesitation. Who would have known that getting to know the minds of the little ones would've been so fun?

Fuzzy Wuzzy Was Half An Egg to Rhabel> « Insane Case From Outer Space crash lands into your thoughts with a boom and a bang! »

Look at Rhadan's face! If you do, you'd see a frown, and the teen's mouth will open slightly to expel a 'awww'. Poor guy! Rhadan know that freedom is awesome. Being able to run, jump and climb - those were all fun. He did surf the wind. And the sea? Well, see little egg… Rhadan gets seasick. That has been established with previous eggs. And sands? Who surfs sands, anyway? But Rhadan could understand the desire to be free and there is a moment where he desires to help the egg - his second hand reaching out to touch the egg as well and he looks like he /might/ try to push it. He doesn't, though. "I… can't. I'll get in trouble, I think." Poor thing, though.

Prickly Desert Mirage Egg to Rhadan> « Tasty in Pink Tasty in Pink is free! You're so amazing! You're my Stinkbrain! You're my hero! It's so excited I could verp? What's a verp? Oh what, you've never gotten that feeling where you want to vomit and a burp at the same time? No? Well that's beside the point, this egg is totally ready for the race and you are its partner in crime you see. You hop on and it zips through mountains of whipped cream topped with cherries and peppermint valleys with massive jawbreakers that swish from side to side. Oh dear, did that one just get too close? Quick! To your right! No no! Your left! You look to your side expecting to see another person joining the race and then just as soon as the whole race started you're left alone with your heart thumping. You'll win the race next time, for sure. »

Rhabel pulls away with a look of confusion on his face, followed shortly there-after by a smile. What is the point indeed? "What are you doing?" he whispers to the egg, and his hands are on it again, trying to figure out just what, exactly, might be so hide-worthy in such mundane things. Silly thing. Also, cute. Silly /cute/ thing.

Fuzzy Wuzzy Was Half An Egg to Rhabel> « Insane Case From Outer Space is creeping around still. »

Sundari the movements of the egg, or well the one within the egg are intersting ons. She never expeted something trapped in a shell to be able to do such things, put up such ideas, and work to gather more for its own usage it seems. "How do you do that?" Yes she is asking the egg, and perhaps even expecting an answer to the question! There is a pause and her gaze flicks across the room as the one within the egg disappears, leaving he wondering but also with a bright smile seen as she sits up a bit more, head held high as if she did something great and it paid off well for her so to speak. "Thank you." Is murmured to the egg as she leans back, a soft breath esacping her. She is soon inching back from the others while they work on the egg touches, asking to leave and then making a quick exit off the sands for one reason or another if she really needs to give one.

Rhabel pulls his hand back looking a little flush at the egg, hesitating a moment before he brings his hand back down on it. There are just /some/ things that a man does not want to relive, and that particular memory was long buried and long forgotten for a reason. Still, he's curious to know more about what makes the little sentient mind inside tick, and so he goes back for more.

Fuzzy Wuzzy Was Half An Egg to Rhabel> « Insane Case From Outer Space has stopped creeping and is now strutting. »

Ir'e finally gets his water but by that time, it's already too late and the bluerider finds his mouth parched. Ug. Worthless candidate! He stiffens, grabbing the cup from the scared looking whelp of a boy before growling at him and shooing him, "Useless!" And then he turns his ire (ha ha, see what I did there) onto the rest of the group, "Okay, that's enough for today, you'll get pleanty of time to touch them in the future. Let's not overstay our welcome. Two golds means two angry mothers we have to worry about. Okay. Off with you. Off. Slowly around the eggs, no one wants any accidents." And he waits until the final straggler has abandoned the hatching ground before making his way out himself.
