Surprise Visit

Western Weyr - Velokraeth's Ledge
This weyr is opulent, it almost looks like some of the ground weyrs. It is quite large, easily fitting two large dragons. The slight lip on the wallow allows for large blankets to be draped over it without sliding downward. The floor stone is smooth, having been wore down over the turns by many dragon and human feet. Towards the back of the dragon area there is a wall with a double door wide opening leading into the living area. On either side of the living area there are two smaller rooms. Towards the back there is an entrance to the washroom on the left and an open area for the kitchenette on the right.
The living area is quite large to match the dragon's area. There is plush carpeting covering most of the weyr, except for the dragon, kitchen and washroom areas which are tiled. The furniture left behind is in quite good condition. There is a sofa and a klah table in the center of the room, and couple of bookcases. Towards the back where the kitchenette is there is a rectangular dining table with four chairs. The spare room to the left has only a desk in it and a book shelf.
The kitchenette is well cared for. There are ample cabinets and counter space about made with good stone, though they are worn a bit by age. There is a stove and oven, ice box and a deep sink. The bedroom is of a slightly more modest size. The bed looks to be roughly a queen size, and there is a dresser with a mirror over it off to the right hand side of the entrance. Some of the area is consumed by a walk-in closet in the back right corner.
The washroom is quite large and clearly designed for two people. There is a large basin tub with a small stand up shower next to it. The toilet has been partitioned off to the left corner, leaving space for a large vanity across most of the back wall of the washroom. It has a light colored stone counter top with two sinks carved out and a very large mirror on the wall behind. There is plenty of cabinet space underneath.

Evening has just begun to set on another cool, autumn day. The dinner hour has past, with most weyrfolk heading off on their business. Velokraeth is out on his spacious ledge, curled up and enjoying the last of the sun and warmth before nightfall sets in. He's also a clear signal to anyone passing by that Th'ero is no doubt within the weyr. Indeed, the bronzerider is inside, dressed in some comfortable, casual clothing and is currently seated on the sofa, a barely touched beer on the table in front of him. Completely harmless, really - less one is intimidated by the fact he's sharpening a small, slender-looking dagger. His brows are furrowed together, no doubt deep in thought as he goes about his odd work.

Sweeps have ended for Zi'on and Suldith. And after a quick bath he rounds up his things to pay Th'ero a little visit. As the pair approach Suldith hails Velokraeth as he lounges. Hopefully Th'ero doesn't have… company. After Suldith backwings onto the ledge, Zi'on hops down. He's wearing casual clothes as well, just a t-shirt and some pants. He's got a box with him, large and wrapped up with goodies inside. "Hello? Th'ero? I know you're in here, you better not be naked! I didn't fly across the bowl to look at another man's ding-dong!"

There is no company, not this night. Company left in the morning, just at the start of his shift. Velokraeth stirs himself a little, at least lifting his head up when Suldith hails him, warmly greeting and welcoming both the bronze and his rider to land and join them. So Th'ero is warned and the sharpening comes to a slow stop, though he doesn't quite sheath the blade yet, instead inspecting it's edge. "In the living area, Zi'on!" he calls out, not looking away as he invites the other bronzerider in. The next remarks have him looking up and staring towards the weyr entrance though. With a sigh that ends in a chuckle, the dagger is sheathed and placed on the table, hand reaching now for his beer. "I am not naked. You're safe - this time." He jokes, taking a quick sip of his drink before setting it back and then rising to his feet. Th'ero might as well go to greet Zi'on at the door or at least half way. "What's the occasion, anyhow?"

Zi'on is the master of the fill-in. Nearly everyone in the wing that wasn't new owed him at least one favor. And the bronzer works a triple at least once a sevenday, if he doesn't take a shift on his off day. But that meant he was often stuck working odd shifts, too. Zi'on hauls in the box as he's invited in. There's a glimpse of the dagger as Th'ero sheaths it. "Going hunting? Or you planning a murder?" He laughs a big at Th'ero's response. "Eh. I guess I've seen plenty of other ding-dongs in the baths. I brought you some weyrwarming gifts." The box is offered as Zi'on takes a look around. "This place is pretty lush though. It's nicer than my weyr. Well, it's also a lot cleaner than my weyr, too."

Th'ero may be lucking out then on his own shifts for now, though he wouldn't be one to complain on it really. His shifts as a guard were pretty chaotic, so the bronzerider is used to it. "Depends. Could be one or the other. Maybe both?" he muses as Zi'on enters, smiling a teasing little smile. But then he too his laughing as he replies, "Nah, actually it's neither. Just figured I'd sharpen it a little. It was a gift." Th'ero explains, before snorting. "I think we all have, though I tend /not/ to stare." The box is given a curious look, though it's accepted and handled carefully before the bronzerider flashes a bit of a lopsided grin towards Zi'on. "Really? You didn't have to but… thanks!" Turning a little as the other bronzerider looks around, Th'ero carefully sets the package on the table, settling back into his seat on the sofa's edge. "Is it? And well, it's not like I've had much time to break the place in." he points out with a chuckle, though his attention seems to focus on opening the box. He pauses long enough though to gesture towards the kitchenette. "Help yourself if you're thirsty or whatnot. Make yourself at home."

Zi'on laughs. "Well, you'll want to chase someone who is less lazy. Maybe Kimmila. She seems like a good challenge." He nods. "A gift? Neat. I'm not sure anyone I know would trust me with a knife. And I try not to stare either. But once you look the images get burned into your brain. And you can only hope there's a cute girl around to help cleanse the images out of your mind." Inside the box Th'ero will find his very own klah maker! Also a jar full of klah. There's also a bottle of Saucy Wench, and some mugs and tumblers to go with the whole set. Zi'on heads over to the kitchenette and takes a peek at what's there. If there's beer, he'll have that. If not, juice or whatever is inside. "Ah, thanks!" Then it's back to the couch. "You got furniture and all, that's good. Most of mine I had to toss. It was on the gross side."

Th'ero shakes his head, smirking though still amused as he side-glances to Zi'on, "Kimmila? Oh, she'd be a challenge, I suppose." He muses, shrugging his shoulders. "Okay, I'll admit you have some truth there. Sometimes it can't be helped to stare." He admits, with a dry chuckle. There's a brief moment of hesitation from the bronzerider as he suspects a prank, perhaps, but then the box is opened and Th'ero is pleasantly surprised, to judge by his expression. "Shells Zi'on! You went all out, didn't you? This is great!" Already he's taking out each item, lingering on the Saucy Wench. There's a bemused grin to that, as well as a laugh. "Still in the business, are we?" he teases. The kitchenette does boast beer, but there is juice as well, as well as some snack foods. Aside from that, it's not well stocked as one might think. Th'ero is still sorting through the gift when Zi'on joins him and the bronzerider glances up to give him a quizzical look. "Toss it because it was gross? What… was it moldy or something?"

Zi'on laughs. "You suppose?" Th'ero will be disappointed that there is no prank from Zi'on. It hadn't occurred to him to put maybe something gross in the box. Though he was tempted to get the bronzer a kitten. Zi'on laughs a bit. "Eh… It's just things I thought you might need. My first serious girlfriend got me a klah maker when she started staying over." There's a grin about the Saucy Wench. "Yep. Not as many bottles, but I do still make extra marks that way. I've actually got the set up in my weyr now. It's pretty efficient, though the bigger distilleries still work a lot better." Zi'on retrieves a beer! Then he settles in on the sofa. "The ice box was, yeah. I had to get a new one. They salvaged my old one for parts though. Everything else was kind of rickety and old. My da gave me some stuff to use, but I had to buy some new stuff. Like a new mattress and the like."

Th'ero might be disappointed at the lack of prank or kitten, but he doesn't show it. What he got instead has his full attention and the bronzerider seems rather touched that Zi'on would go through the trouble. "Well, I appreciate it. They're great!" he exclaims again, before turning his head a little to give the other bronzerider a long look. "So… is that a hint then?" he jokes, laughing slightly, grabbing up his beer as he leans back into the sofa, promptly slouching and just overall settling in as relaxed as one could. "Huh. Extra marks, eh? A good profit or just passable?" Th'ero asks, sounding curious as he takes a long pull of his drink. There's a bit of a grimace then, followed by a slight disgruntled noise. "Shards. You got the short end of the stick. Though… I hadn't though about checking the mattress."

Zi'on takes care of his own, generally. He may be a mark hoarder, but he hoards generally so he can share with his friends. He peers at Th'ero. "A hint? Don't take it the wrong way. It was just something that I didn't realize I needed until she brought it up." There's a chuckle about the booze. "I have to pay for the labels and the bottles. And some shipping items, but the rest is profit now that the initial expenses have been taken care of. Since I do my own distribution and all I don't have to pay for it. But I don't really have the time to make a whole lot. Not enough to quit the wing, heh." He shrugs a bit. "Eh. It's not that bad. You should check your mattress though. If it didn't look gross though it's probably fine as long as you have a sheet on it."

Th'ero has to build up more marks himself, though he'll no doubt be generous enough in return to friends in time. There's an amused look given to Zi'on and the bronzerider shakes his head again, taking another sip of his beer before he replies, "I wasn't taking it the wrong way. Just trying to joke around a little. It was a thoughtful gift and I really am thankful you got it for me." He then tilts his head a little as Zi'on goes on about his little side-business, listening and seeming rather interested by the time he finishes. "Huh. Looks like you had a good idea then, starting it up. How far do you ship it out?" he asks next, ever curious. At the mention of the possibly questionable mattress, Th'ero simply shrugs as well. "Seemed fine the other night." He admits, not realizing how that remark could be taken.

Zi'on isn't really keeping track of favors, other than the ones counted in shifts. This allowed Zi'on to take his days off whenever his goldrider decided she needed a vacation. Zi'on rubs the back of his neck a little sheepishly. "Heh, well, you're welcome." He shrugs a bit about his business. "I dunno. I got customers at most of the weyrs. Telgar, Ista, Fort. Well, sort of. The harper hall at least. Since I don't make that much most of them break it out on special occasions." Zi'on raises a brow to the other bronzer, then laughs. "Not sleeping here too often, hm? Mostly down on the beach? Not that I blame you. I don't sleep at home too often myself really."

Even so, Th'ero will probably be the one to ask then for favors involving shifts. The bronzerider would no doubt help out. He blinks a little, surprised by Zi'on's reply. "All those areas and the Harper Hall too? Not bad. Even in small batches, that's still a good number of areas." Th'ero says, mulling it over in his thoughts. In honesty, he knows little about these things, but to his mind at the moment it seems profitable. His beer is finished in a few last long sips and he leans forwards to set the glass back to the table, chuckling heartily in response to Zi'on's laughter. "Oh, I am sleeping here. And well, down there too." There's a pause, then a bit of a sly grin. "Not always alone." He adds, before the grin changes to a slight smirk. "I think I can guess where you may be sleeping?"

Zi'on will more than likely be happy to accommodate Th'ero. He wouldn't be counting the other bronzer's favors though. There was a difference between a friend and a wingmate generally. Though Zi'on had a few friends in his wing. "Mm. I make a tidy bit off each bottle, I can charge a little more since it's sort of a commodity. It's pretty good money. But I usually only get maybe half a dozen or so bottles done a week." Zi'on finishes up his own beer, and sets his glass down as well. "Heh. That's good though. I thought maybe you and Jey would disappear on vacation for a bit before you took up your wing duties." Zi'on laughs. "Not with Raev, other than that one night." Cough. "Speaking of though… I should probably head down there. My old lady ought to be out of work by now." He gets off the couch and stretches before heading towards the ledge.

"Well, if it picks up, you could have a genuine interest in. Then you can charge high, seeing as it's ah, "rare", in a way?" Th'ero muses, looking thoughtful as he glances in front of him at nothing in particular, one hand coming up to scratch idly along his short goatee. "Vacation?" The bronzerider echoes, glancing back to Zi'on and then frowning as he considers that suggestion. "You know… shells. I probably should have. Jeyinshi has been wanting to show me her home Hold." He says, looking a little sheepish as he hints at his forgetfulness. "Though a vacation alone seems much more…fun." He admits with a devious look and smile. Th'ero then laughs softly. "Ahh, yeah. That night." Yep, a teeny bit of awkwardness there, which is thankfully broken by Zi'on, though Th'ero looks a little disappointed that he's leaving so soon. "Alright. Thanks again, Zi'on, for the gifts. Stop by anytime." He offers, grinning crookedly. "Though if Velokraeth isn't on his ledge? Probably not best to just waltz in here. Fair warning, hmm?" There's another snicker-like laugh from the bronzerider, before a half wave is given to the departing bronzerider. Th'ero himself eventually pulls himself up from his comfy spot on the couch to go about settling the gifts in appropriate spots.
